Today I saw someone with a political message be told to smile and not look so masculine. It was argued it is possible to look tough but still smile and look sweet. And that it was not good for women to see an image of someone like that person. My feeling: 🤮🤮🤮 You know, I smile when I bloody well feel like it. I am not here to be estetically pleasing. I am here to make things happen. To create. To change minds. And I decide what is good for me to see!And I decide that it is good for everyone to realise that women do NOT need to smile. We do NOT need to stop all the time to check our appearances. We need to focus on the task at hand. And we do NOT need someone in our feed telling us how to be women. Why can't we be whatever kind of female we want? How do you even know we want to identify as women? Even taking this picture was hard because it is so imprinted in me that people want a smile. What if my message isn't happy? What if I am not happy (I am, but that's not the point)? Who does the smile serve?#feminism #smile #mendontneedtosmile #womendontneedtosmile
